ISPO Amsterdam 2026 Debut Kicks Off the Q4 Trade Show Season: Ski, Trail Running and Pickleball Sourcing Windows

The final week of September is when the outdoor industry stops talking about summer and starts writing winter orders. On 28 September, SGI Europe published its Q4 2026 trade show calendar — fifteen events from October to December, opening with the biggest format change the sector has seen in half a century.

A New City, a New Buying Rhythm

ISPO, the world’s leading trade fair for sporting goods, outdoor and winter sports, moves to RAI Amsterdam for the first time on 3–5 November 2026. The relocation ends a run of more than 50 years in Munich and follows a joint venture between organiser Messe München and UK-based Raccoon Media Group, backed by a EUR 3 million investment to rebuild the format.

The detail that matters most to buyers is the date, not the postcode. The Amsterdam slot sits earlier in the calendar than the old Munich edition, and the organisers say the shift was made deliberately to align ISPO with global buying cycles — an acknowledgement that winter sourcing decisions are increasingly locked in before the new year.

The event has been split in two. 3 November is the one-day ISPO Leaders Summit, a limited-capacity gathering for senior decision-makers built on three themes: participation, sustainability and fair trade. The ISPO Expo follows on 4–5 November, with tickets covering the co-located International Running Expo. More than 500 exhibitors have confirmed, Intersport is the first major retailer to return, and a new Padel Village joins the open-format ISPO interACTIVE floor.

The Snowsports Countdown: LISTEX, Snow Show London and Snowbound Expo

For snowsports brands the consumer season now starts in October. LISTEX, the London International Snowsports Trade Exchange, runs 15–16 October at the Hilton Kensington around pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings and the annual State of the Snowsports Market survey. It is followed immediately by the 50th edition of Snow Show London at Olympia on 17–18 October, letting brands combine trade and consumer activity in one trip.

Across the Atlantic, Snowbound Expo returns to Mohegan Sun, Connecticut, on 14–15 November — now in its fortieth-plus year, with more than 200 brands and exhibitors including Patagonia, Armada, Nordica and Lib Tech.

Mountain, Crag and Trail: Vertical Pro and Alpinmesse

Vertical Pro takes over Messe Friedrichshafen on 13–14 November with more than 200 exhibitors from 30 countries across 18,610 square metres and a hands-on Demo and Test Area. A week later, Alpinmesse and Alpinforum run 21–22 November at Messe Innsbruck — Europe’s largest mountain sports trade fair, where the 2025 edition drew over 220 exhibitors and more than 13,000 visitors. Its programme spans ski touring, freeriding, climbing, trail running and biking: four of the categories this site builds hardware for. Kendal Mountain Festival fills the UK slot on 19–22 November.

Running Gets Its Own Floor

Running is no longer a corridor inside a general sports show. The International Running Expo is now bundled into ISPO Expo admission, and the wider Q4 calendar lists dedicated running events alongside the mainstream fairs. The buyers on that floor are specialists, and they arrive with tighter technical briefs.

Why Q4 Is the Sourcing Window That Decides Q1

Demand signals support the calendar. Research published on 23 September 2026 projects continued growth for the winter sporting goods market through 2031, driven by winter tourism, resort investment and demand for premium gear. Doppelmayr Group reported worldwide sales revenue of EUR 1.3 billion for its 2025–26 fiscal year, up 9.1 percent year on year. Pass consolidation continues too, with the Ikon Pass adding destinations in Japan and China plus several North American resorts for 2026–27.

On the court side, Sports & Fitness Industry Association data puts US pickleball participation at roughly 20 million, up more than 300 percent in four years. Buyers who spent 2025 chasing paddle stock are now sourcing the accessories around the sport: bags, paddle covers and transport straps.

The consequence is simple. Halls and container slots fill first, and factories already loading winter production have little spare capacity for late additions. Brands that finalise specifications in October and November ship on schedule; brands that wait until January take whatever is left.

What We Manufacture

Vertasport is the export brand of a Shenzhen hook-and-loop and sports-accessory factory with 16+ years of manufacturing behind it. We supply the hardware that sits between the athlete and the snow, the trail or the court:

Every order runs factory-direct under your own brand: OEM and ODM development, low MOQ for a first trial order, and materials that are REACH and RoHS compliant. Where your retail programme requires social audits or quality-system paperwork, we can arrange a BSCI audit or ISO 9001 recertification on request.

Plan Your Q4 Order Before the Shows Fill the Calendar

Whether you are heading to Amsterdam in November or working the London and Connecticut shows in October, the most useful thing you can do beforehand is lock specifications. Send us your drawings, samples or a competitor reference and we will return a factory-direct quotation within 24 hours, with material options, MOQ and lead times attached.

Email sales@vertasport.com or message us on WhatsApp with the category you are buying for. We will confirm pricing, sampling and the shipping window that gets your stock on the shelf before the season starts.

EU GPSR, REACH & US Tariffs: The 2026 Compliance Checklist for Outdoor Gear Buyers

Compliance has moved from paperwork to the front of the buying decision. The EU’s General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is now fully in force, the REACH SVHC list stands at 253 substances after its February 2026 update, and U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods have swung repeatedly through 2026. For brands importing ski, cycling and outdoor gear, here is the checklist to run before you commit.

Material testing and compliance quality inspection outdoor gear

EU GPSR — the New Baseline for EU Sales

Regulation (EU) 2023/988 replaced the old General Product Safety Directive after a transition period that ended in December 2024. GPSR applies to essentially all consumer products sold in the EU — new or second-hand, regardless of origin — and it now holds online marketplaces accountable for the products they list.

REACH — Materials Matter

REACH manages the chemicals in products placed on the EU market. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) regularly updates the SVHC Candidate List — two substances were added on 4 February 2026, bringing the list to 253 entries. When a listed substance is present above 0.1% by weight in an article, information must flow down the supply chain and, in certain cases, be notified to ECHA.

US Tariffs — a Moving Target in 2026

U.S. tariff policy on Chinese goods has been unusually volatile. Rates were raised sharply through 2025 — reaching as high as 145% before being reduced to 30% in May 2025 and 20% in November 2025. The IEEPA-based 20% rate then ended on 24 February 2026 after the U.S. Supreme Court struck it down, with the average rate falling near 9.1%, before new Section 122 tariffs were imposed — those are themselves under legal challenge, while Section 301 duties from 2018 remain in force.

Practical advice: never quote from memory. Check the current rate for your exact HS code on the USITC HTS website before pricing, factor landed cost (duty plus freight) into your margin, and remember tariff windows can close quickly — seasonal programs benefit from earlier commitment and firm orders.

Six Questions to Ask Your Factory

Compliance Belongs in the Sourcing Decision

As tariffs and regulations tighten, buyers consolidate around factories that can handle compliance end to end. Certification, documentation and traceability are now part of the product itself — not an afterthought bolted on after sampling.

One Factory, Compliance Built In

Vertasport has supplied leading sports brands in Europe and North America for two decades — OEM/ODM across ski, cycling, running, hiking and pickleball from a single BSCI and ISO 9001 certified factory. Materials are selected for REACH/RoHS compliance, declarations and test support are available, and low MOQs allow market testing before you scale. Explore the full product range or ask us about compliance documentation on your next project.
